AMD Catalyst Omega trae grandes mejoras a equipos AMD
AMD anunció hoy el lanzamiento de sus controladores gráficos en una edición especial llamada AMD Catalyst Omega, la cual llega con mejoras en el rendimiento y la implementación de nuevas características y tecnologías. Dichos controladores estarán disponibles para su descarga el próximo 9 de diciembre.
DSR vs VSR
Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) es la respuesta de AMD ante el Nvidia Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR).
Esta tecnología tiene algunas ventajas y algunas desventajas. Una ventaja es jugar a un juego por encima de la resolución de nuestro monitor para ofrecer una mayor calidad gráfica con un rendimiento superior ante el ahorro del uso del filtrado Anti-Aliasing.
La desventaja es que muchos juegos no están optimizados para funcionar a resoluciones altas, momento en el que solo sería posible con el uso de una gráfica de alta gama como una Radeon R9 290X o GTX 980, por lo que en ese caso es mejor jugar con sólo el AA activado.
AMD FreeSync vs Nvidia G-Sync
Se implementa la tecnología FreeSync, la variante gratuita de Nvidia G-Sync, consiguiendo así sincronizar la tasa de refresco del monitor con la GPU para evitar el temido tearing. Los primeros monitores Free-Sync llegarán a principios del próximo año (2015), ya que será necesario hacer uso la ultima versión del puerto DisplayPort.
Mejoras de Vídeo
AMD Catalyst Omega trae mejoras en lo que a la calidad de vídeo se refiere con tecnologías como Fluid Motion Video (mejora la fluidez de la imagen), Detail Enhancement (re-escala un contenido a mayor resolución sin perder calidad) y Adaptive upscaling, todas ellas explicadas en las diapositivas.
Mejora de rendimiento en GPU's y APU's
Estos drivers prometen mejorar el rendimiento de una GPU AMD Radeon en hasta un 19 por ciento o un 29% respecto a los primeros drivers que recibieron las APU.
Soporte de monitores 5K y hasta 24 monitores simultáneos
Llega el soporte a monitores con una resolución 5K (5120 x 2880p @ 60 Hz) y Eyefinity ahora es capaz de manejar hasta 24 monitores de forma simultánea.
